I Just Don't Get It

"I know how weird I am. I do. I'm sorry. But you know what happens? Everything just...gets to me. Everything. Even the beautiful things, they hurt. And I don't get it, I mean the whole thing. I don't get it."

"I am living in the wrong time...I am fulfilled by the making of hamburger patties, by the care of my child. I like the smell of laundry detergent. I like listening to what (my child) says more than reading the newspaper. I don't want to be a photographer or run for office. I don't want to make a million dollars. I want to read poetry and novels and raise my daughter and make chocolate chip cookies."

That breathless charm, my foolish heart

From My Best Friend's Wedding:

Someday, when I'm awfully low
when the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you

Yes, you're lovely, with your smile so warm
and your cheeks so soft
there is nothing for me but to love you
and the way you look tonight

With each word your tenderness grows
tearing my fear apart
and that laugh that wrinkles your nose
it touches my foolish heart

Lovely...never, ever change
keep that breathless charm
won't you please arrange it 'cause I love you
just the way you look tonight

OK, so it was originally Frank Sinatra? It didn't catch my attention until My Best Friend's Wedding.
