"Watch for birds! Oh, and deer."

Travis. Love him and laugh. Alot.

My soon-to-be 4 year-old nephew, Travis, keeps us hoppin'! And always laughing. When I leave French Lick to make the 30-minute rural drive home, my Mom always tells me to be careful and watch for deer. Travis picked up on that a year or so ago and as he hugged me good-bye one night he said, "Watch for birds!" We got a good chuckle, but he just said so seriously that one time they hit a bird when they were driving in the car. He's never experienced anyone hitting a deer, but he does want me to be careful and safe. Thus, watch for birds! Tonight it was, "Watch for birds! Oh, and deer."

Such a sweetie. He shares a birthday with his uncle, my brother, Eric...July 25. They're birthday buddies, Travis says. At his birthday party last summer, at Travis' request, all the guys (only) "got" to wear Superman masks and have their picture taken. Travis thought this was such a great gift to his party guests. He was so excited and we were all happy that all the males there cooperated. There's a photo to commemorate the event!

It was his birthday party, but he wanted so much to share his thrill of the day with others. He hoped to make them as happy as he was! And he does. We are blessed.
