12 year old say his dog is acting funny. Wants to leave class to call home to check on him. Okay, dig for compassion, let him call home. No one is there. Back to class.
Mom calls back later wanting boy out of class to take phone call about dog. Explain that he goes to lunch in 25 mins, ask can he call her then. Okay.
Mom calls back 5 mins later. Insists that boy comes to phone now because "he will have a break down" by lunch time. She says that dog is okay, so she's asked if boy can be given message and that it'll be delivered right way. She reluctantly agrees.
The moral of the story, "Better at the barn than at the house." And, IMO, well, okay, I'll keep my specific parenting advice to myself.
